The University of South Florida, known as USF, was founded in Tampa, Florida in 1956.
USF is a member of the Florida State University System. The university teaches 180 courses in 14 faculties, including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and specialization courses. With 48,000 students, this institution is the fourth largest public research university in Florida.
The University of South Florida has three modern and large campuses. The Tampa campus is located on the site of the university's central building. The central campus houses the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, Journalism and Media. The campus offers amenities such as an educational resource complex, extensive media training, performing arts, sports and fitness centers, and campus residences. The Sarasota-Manatee campus is located near Siesta Key Beach.
The Carnegie Endowment has shown that USF is one of the leading research associations in the United States. It occupies 251-300 places in the world ranking. It has been ranked 25th in National Research Universities (National Science Foundation, 2016). The University of South Florida has three modern and large campuses.
