Given the ever-increasing importance of sea level rise, climate change and the associated impacts on coastal regions around the world, we invite anyone with an interest in the fascinating and diverse field of oceanography to join this expert presentation by Dr Ivan Hay, Associate Professor of Coastal Oceanography at the University of Southampton.
The session will discuss Dr. Hay's recent work, the opportunities and resources available to ocean and geoscience students, and the National Oceanographic Center (NOCS), a purpose-built dockside university campus focused on research, education, and technology development in the area of ocean. and earth sciences.
With making numerous appearances in the media Dr Hay, including on the BBC's How Humans Change the Tide of the Oceans, as an expert in this field. The University of Southampton is a prestigious Russell Group university, ranked among the top 15 universities (Complete University Guide, 2022) in the UK and 77th in the world (QS, 2022). Many subjects are in the top 20 in the UK, including oceanography.
