Module Aims
This Psychology Module is aimed at providing students with the foundation of knowledge and skills required to continue their education in the rest of the modules. Students are introduced to the multi-perspective nature of psychology, demonstrating how psychology varies from other hard sciences in terms of academic rigidity. This unit is based on the specific approaches and will explain the key concepts and key individuals who contributed to each approach. Student are introduced to key terminology used in each approach and are explained how to use these terms appropriately, and also exposed to certain behavioral psychology concepts at this point.

Module Aims
This module aims at providing an in-depth understanding of cognitive processes that are involved with sensory perception, visual perception and its various forms. Students will be exposed to models and theories that explain memory, attention and consciousness in terms of cognitive processes. The module also analyzes the different theories used to understand information processing and evaluate them in terms of strengths and limitations.

Module Aims
This module aims at providing an understanding of the relationship between the biological process and human behavior and cognition. Students will be exposed to basic neuro-anatomy and neurophysiology relevant to psychology, while familiarizing them with terminology and techniques used in Biopsychology.
Students will be encouraged to explain both normal as well as abnormal behaviors and thinking patterns using underlying biological processes such as brain activity, genes, neuro-chemicals and biochemical. This module will also focus on popular physiological methods & techniques used by psychologists to investigate the relationship between biology and psychology.

Social Psychology

Module Aims
The module will cover almost every facet of social behavior, including our sense of self, attitudes, social compliance, conformity, obedience to authority, attribution processes, group performance, conflict, interpersonal attraction, pro-social and aggressive behavior. Through the study of these topics’ students will gain an understanding to the simple question of why people do the things they do, and how and why that behavior may change in the presence of others. The module will give an overview of the experimental findings and theoretical positions that seek to explain human behavior in a social environment.

Module Aims
The module Motivation and Emotion focuses on teaching different motivational theories to the students and gives them a broader understanding on factors that motivate humans. The module will also focus on different theories of emotion, biological basis of emotions and emotional intelligence. Relevant findings from several significant research studies will also be considered. Further this module focuses on the concept of personality in a multi-perspective view, thereby encouraging students to evaluate and compare theories of personality. Students will also gain an idea on how individual differences such as gender, culture and socio-economic status may influence one’s personality & techniques used by psychologists to investigate the relationship between biology and psychology.
